Job Description

Robotics Engineer (Remote, Full-Time)

Join Rex.zone to design, develop, and deploy robotics capabilities across perception, localization, planning, and control. You will integrate ROS2 systems, validate behaviors in simulation and on hardware, and harden features for safety, reliability, and maintainability in production-like environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own robotics software components end-to-end, from requirements to release
  • Build ROS2 nodes, launch files, TF integrations, and robust system interfaces
  • Develop and optimize perception and sensor fusion pipelines (camera/IMU/LiDAR where applicable)
  • Implement motion planning, collision avoidance, and smooth trajectory generation
  • Design and tune control loops for stable motion and precise actuation
  • Build navigation, SLAM/localization workflows and evaluate performance metrics
  • Create simulation-first testing strategies (e.g., Gazebo) and regression suites
  • Debug timing, memory, and concurrency issues in Linux robotics stacks
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to document interfaces and improve observability

Required Qualifications

  • Mid-Senior experience shipping robotics features in real-world or production-like settings
  • Strong C++ and Python skills for robotics development
  • Hands-on experience with ROS2 (packages, TF, message/service patterns)
  • Control systems fundamentals (kinematics/dynamics) and controller tuning
  • Knowledge of sensor fusion and state estimation concepts
  • Comfortable in Linux with Git-based workflows and measurable testing practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SLAM/navigation stacks and benchmarking methodology
  • Computer vision for robotics (calibration, tracking, detection, depth)
  • Embedded systems exposure (microcontrollers, real-time constraints, CAN/I2C/SPI)
  • Simulation/digital twin workflows using Gazebo or similar tools
  • Reliability engineering, fault handling, and safety practices for robotics

Compensation

  • Hourly pay range: $30–$50/hr (based on skills and experience)
  • Remote, distributed collaboration

How To Apply

Apply via Rex.zone with your resume and a brief summary of robotics projects shipped. Include links to repositories, technical write-ups, or demos. Highlight ROS2 contributions, control tuning, simulation validation, and real-hardware deployment results.
