Job Description

Robotics Engineer (Remote, Full-Time)

Rex.zone is hiring for a remote Robotics Engineer role supporting US-based engineering teams. You will build and improve production-grade robotics software for autonomous systems spanning perception, localization/SLAM, motion planning, and controls, with a strong focus on reliability, testing, and validation in simulation and hardware-in-the-loop.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain ROS/ROS2 components for perception, planning, and control
  • Integrate sensors (LiDAR, cameras, IMU, encoders) including calibration, sensor fusion, and time synchronization
  • Build and tune SLAM/localization pipelines and navigation behaviors
  • Implement motion planning (trajectory generation, collision checking, recovery behaviors)
  • Develop and tune control algorithms (PID, MPC, or classical control) for safe operation
  • Create simulation and validation workflows using Gazebo/Isaac Sim; define metrics and regression tests
  • Establish HIL/field testing, log analysis, incident retrospectives, and reliability improvements
  • Contribute to CI/CD, code quality, documentation, and long-term maintainability

Required Qualifications

  • Mid-Senior experience delivering robotics/autonomous systems in production or advanced prototypes
  • Strong Python and C++ proficiency for robotics software development
  • Hands-on ROS/ROS2 experience (tf, navigation stacks, message definitions, launch tooling)
  • Understanding of estimation, coordinate frames, uncertainty, and practical deployment constraints
  • Linux-based development, debugging/profiling, and log-driven troubleshooting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in logistics/warehouse, industrial automation, manufacturing, agriculture, or field robotics
  • Safety and reliability practices (fail-safes, watchdogs, redundancy)
  • Docker and CI pipelines; reproducible builds
  • Simulation robustness techniques (Gazebo/Isaac Sim plugins, domain randomization)

Compensation

Competitive hourly pay: $30–$50/hr (based on experience and scope).

How To Apply

Apply via Rex.zone with a resume/LinkedIn profile highlighting ROS/ROS2 delivery, robotics outcomes, and relevant project links (GitHub, demos, publications).
