Job Description

Robotics Engineer (Remote, Full-Time)

Rex.zone connects engineers with remote robotics teams building production autonomy for mobile robots and robotics platforms. In this role, you will ship robotics capabilities from prototype to production across perception, localization, mapping, planning, and control while collaborating remotely across time zones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain ROS/ROS2 nodes and interfaces for real robots
  • Implement SLAM, sensor fusion, and perception pipelines (camera/LiDAR/IMU)
  • Build simulation scenarios (e.g., Gazebo) and hardware-in-the-loop test setups
  • Tune motion planning and control loops; optimize latency and reliability
  • Write unit/integration tests, define acceptance criteria, and support safe deployments
  • Debug field issues using logs, bag files, and telemetry; contribute to postmortems

Required Qualifications

  • Mid-Senior experience shipping robotics software to physical systems
  • Strong C++ and Python; practical ROS/ROS2 experience
  • Experience with at least two: SLAM, sensor fusion, computer vision, motion/path planning, control systems, calibration
  • Linux and Git workflows; performance profiling and concurrency fundamentals

Preferred Qualifications

  • Autonomous navigation stacks, behavior trees, state estimation, optimization-based planning
  • LiDAR/camera pipelines, time synchronization, CI for robotics, Dockerized deployments
  • Safety engineering, reliability testing, and production support practices

Compensation

Hourly base pay range: $30–$50/hr (USD), depending on experience and scope.

How To Apply

Apply via Rex.zone and include evidence of deployed robotics work (links to ROS/ROS2 packages, demos/videos, Git repos, benchmarks, and debugging stories).
