Job Description

Robotics Engineer (Remote, Full-Time)

Rex.zone is hiring a Robotics Engineer to design, integrate, and validate robot systems used in real-world automation workflows. You will work across perception, localization/SLAM, motion planning, controls, and robot software integration to improve reliability, safety, and performance.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and maintain robot software modules using ROS/ROS2 nodes, services, and actions
  • Implement and tune perception pipelines (camera/LiDAR), tracking, and sensor fusion for robust state estimation
  • Design motion planning and control loops (trajectory generation, path planning, PID/MPC tuning) for safe navigation
  • Build SLAM and localization components; improve map quality, loop closure stability, and drift performance
  • Create simulation scenarios and regression suites (Gazebo or equivalent) to validate autonomy changes before deployment
  • Conduct hardware-in-the-loop testing, log analysis, and root-cause investigations for field issues
  • Define and enforce engineering QA: coding standards, reviews, unit/integration tests, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, electrical, and product teams on system integration
  • Document architecture, interfaces, calibration procedures, and operational runbooks

Required Qualifications

  • Mid-Senior experience delivering robotics/autonomy features to production or deployed prototypes
  • Strong C++ and Python skills on Linux
  • Hands-on ROS/ROS2 experience (TF frames, message design, RViz/rosbag debugging)
  • Fundamentals in kinematics, dynamics, controls, and motion planning
  • Experience with perception/state estimation (sensor fusion, SLAM, EKF/UKF, visual-inertial methods)
  • Comfort with Git workflows and automated testing in CI environments

Remote Work

This is a Remote, FULL_TIME role with simulation-first development, regression testing, and hardware integration/hardware-in-the-loop validation.

Compensation

Hourly range: $30–$50 (USD), based on experience and scope.

How To Apply

Apply via Rex.zone and include relevant ROS/ROS2 experience, autonomy modules shipped, and test/validation ownership. Links to GitHub/portfolio are welcome.
