Job Description

About Company

Exantro is building autonomous battery-swap infrastructure that enables drones to operate continuously without pausing for power. The company was founded on the belief that the real bottleneck in scaling drone operations is energy, not the drone itself. Exantro engineers stations, batteries, and software that transform one-off drone flights into reliable, ongoing services. The team focuses on integrating hardware and software to create robust, scalable systems for next-generation autonomous operations. Joining Exantro offers the opportunity to shape the core technology behind high-impact drone infrastructure from an early stage.

About the Role

We are looking for a Robotics Engineer Intern to support our team in the development of the electrical and software systems powering our autonomous battery-swapping robot. The role involves close collaboration with our electrical, software, and mechanical engineers across sensing, control, and embedded systems.

What you will be working on

  • Software development for robot control, automation logic, or system integration
  • Embedded firmware development and testing for sensing, actuation, and control systems
  • Custom PCB design, schematic capture, and layout for control and sensing subsystems
  • Circuit design support, wiring, and hardware bring-up/debugging
  • Integration and testing of sensors, motors, and actuators with control software
  • Debugging issues that span the hardware-software boundary

What we are looking for

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Comfortable working across both software and electrical/embedded systems — depth in one is fine, but you should be able to hold your own on the other
  • Hands-on experience with embedded platforms (e.g. Arduino, ESP32, STM32, Raspberry Pi) through coursework, personal projects, or competition teams
  • Exposure to PCB design tools (e.g. KiCad, Altium, Eagle) and schematic/layout fundamentals
  • Working knowledge of programming languages relevant to robotics/embedded systems (e.g. C/C++, Python)
  • Genuine interest in startups and robotics; comfortable navigating ambiguity

Duration: 6 months (Flexible)
