Role Description The Robotics Engineer – Final Year / Experienced role at Kelvin6k is a full-time, on-site position based in Chennai. The role involves designing, programming, and maintaining robotic systems used in concrete 3D printing and automated construction processes. Day-to-day tasks include developing and testing control algorithms, integrating hardware and software components, troubleshooting system issues, and optimizing robotic workflows for speed, safety, and accuracy. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine automation processes, support field operations, and contribute to continuous improvement of sustainable construction technology. The position also includes documenting technical work, assisting in pilot projects, and ensuring systems operate reliably in real-world construction environments.
Qualifications
  • Robotics and Process Automation skills, including experience with robotic systems, control algorithms, and automation of industrial processes.
  • Strong Analytical Skills to diagnose technical issues, interpret data, and optimize system performance.
  • Software Development capabilities, such as proficiency in programming languages commonly used in robotics (e.g., C++, Python) and familiarity with control or simulation tools.
  • Effective Communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, document technical work clearly, and present findings or recommendations.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or final-year enrollment) in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Understanding of industrial automation, sensors, actuators, and safety standards in robotic applications.
  • Ability to work on-site in Chennai, engage in hands-on testing, and adapt to a dynamic construction environment.
  • Experience or interest in 3D printing, construction technology, or sustainable engineering is an advantage.
