The role

In This Role You Will

  • Assist the Ion Beam Centre, SIMPLE group with post-implant characterisation and analysis of colour-centres
  • Work with SIMPLE/IBC team to develop/commission the characterisation facilities
  • Commissioning of the IBC confocal PL system
  • Investigate/contribute towards establishing long term funding opportunities
  • Train other staff on the new confocal PL system

About You

You will have:

  • Completed, or be working towards completion of, a PhD in relevant research area
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of confocal PL systems and techniques
  • A strong background in colour-centre generation and analysis, particularly the Diamond and SiC material systems
  • Good working knowledge of single-ion-implantation techniques and processes
  • Ideally a good working relationship with both supply chain (such as Element6, Thorlabs) and stakeholder/collaborative organisations
