Purpose / Summary

We are currently recruiting a Product Engineer for the Innovation Center of our Film division, where we develop and manufacture all kinds of metallized film capacitors, with special focus on development of Film Capacitors for Power Electronics in Industrial Motor Drives, Renewable Energy Converters (solar, wind, etc…) and Railway.

The Product Engineer is responsible for the Research & Development of new and innovative products complying with the competitive strategies pursued by the Company in terms of performance and costs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support New Product Development Projects :
• Adopt the “Stage & Gate” development process
• Search for new materials, processes and technologies for the new products
• Definition of the production process stages
• New product costing
• Design and Process FMEA preparation
• Design and realization of the prototypes and samples
• New product approval (internal and Customers’)
• Completion of the new product industrialization according to the Company procedures.
• Transfer of the new product to the Process Technical Dept.
• Pre-series production with performance and reject capability analysis
• Start-up and approval of the new mass production process
• Definition and updating of the technical documents (both internal and Customers’, PPAP, Data Sheet)
• Technology scouting and forecasting :
• Competitors’ product analysis and benchmarking
• Patent search for new potential applications and Freedom-to-Operate analysis
• Consistently updating state-of-the-art scientific research in the field of film capacitors
• Innovative Ideas proposal
• Providing technical support to other Departments:
• CAD drawing support for R&D
• Support for production process definition and improvement
• Technical responses to market requests (RTI – Requests for Technical Information)
• Return and Complaint Analysis (according to 8D, 5Whys, Fault Tree Analysis procedures

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in electronic or electrical engineering;
• Fluent in English / Intermediate Italian would be e plus;
• 3-5 years in electronics and/or industrial electric power as developer/designer would be an advantage;
• Microsoft Office, CAD design (SolidWorks or Creo preferred), Circuit simulation software (LTspice preferred);
• Software for statistical analysis (Minitab preferred), Programming fundamentals (C++/Python), Power BI, Finite Element Analysis Software (ANSYS preferred), Numerical Computing Software (Matlab or similar);
• Strong work ethic in terms of accountability, integrity, attentiveness, self-monitoring and time management;
• Strong communication and organizational skills needed for interfacing with R&D, other Departments, Suppliers and Customers;
• Proactive, hands-on problem-solving attitude with a willingness to engage directly in experimental setups and testing, ensuring both accuracy and safe handling of high-voltage equipment;
• Good attitude towards Innovation through interest and curiosity for Technology trends, and creative thinking skills;
• Project Management Skills;
• Ability to apply fundamental theories in real engineering problem solving;
