As a pivotal member of Nokia's DSP Algorithm Team, you will spearhead the development of advanced Coherent DSP and algorithms and implementation, driving fiber optic communication systems beyond 800 Gbps. You’ll analyze system link performance and collaborate closely with ASIC teams to translate innovative algorithms into practical modem implementations. Our dynamic and collaborative environment is fueled by cross-functional teamwork that fosters creativity and effective problem-solving. How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn

  • Develop and fine-tune Coherent DSP algorithms for fiber optic systems surpassing 800 Gbps.
  • Evaluate system link performance via simulations and hands-on assessments in optical transport.
  • Collaborate with ASIC teams to implement DSP algorithms in coherent modem designs.
  • Analyze and interpret industry standards for cutting-edge lineside technology (OIF and OpenROADM).
  • Drive firmware initiatives for channel acquisition and DSP performance optimization.
  • Engage cross-functional teams for seamless integration and deployment of DSP solutions.
  • Continuously assess algorithm performance, collaboratively communicating findings with interdisciplinary teams.

Key Skills And Experience

You have:

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • Proficiency in MATLAB and C programming languages
  • Understanding of application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) and field-programmable gate array (FPGA) design principles
  • Prior practical experience with digital signal processing, including control loops and digital equalization
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Effective communication skills

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Laboratory experience with real-time optical systems
  • Knowledge of RTL/Verilog
  • Familiarity with concepts in error correction codes and information theory
