Job Description

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading OEM in the electrified vehicle space. They are looking for a hands-on Power Electronics System Engineer with a strong background in traction inverter development — ideally from a Tier-1 automotive supplier.

About the role

You will own system design and requirements engineering for the inverter — the core component responsible for converting DC from the battery pack to AC for the traction motor. Working in a cross-functional team, you will drive requirements from vehicle level down to component, managing both hardware and software interfaces.

We believe you have experience with

  • Inverter system design (DC/AC conversion, gate driving, thermal management)
  • Requirement elicitation and structured breakdown to subsystem level
  • System safety design in accordance with ISO 26262
  • Stakeholder management across electrical, software, and mechanical teams
  • Supplier technical support and interface management
  • Several years of experience with traction inverters or power conversion systems for EV — from a Tier-1 supplier or equivalent environment
  • Solid understanding of both HW and SW aspects of power electronics
  • Experience with electric drive systems and motor control fundamentals
  • Proficiency in requirement management, ISO 26262, and ASPICE
  • Hands-on experience with Matlab/Simulink and Carweaver
  • B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
