Role Description

Xorian Industries is seeking a PCB Designer to join our UAV electronics team. The selected candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and optimization of printed circuit boards for drone flight controllers, sensor modules, communication systems, and other UAV electronics.

Key responsibilities include:

  • - Designing schematic diagrams and multilayer PCB layouts for flight controller systems.
  • - Optimizing high-speed, mixed-signal, analog, digital, and power circuits for UAV applications.
  • - Ensuring signal integrity, EMI/EMC performance, thermal management, and manufacturability.
  • - Selecting and validating electronic components based on performance, availability, and cost.
  • - Collaborating with hardware, firmware, and testing teams during prototype development and debugging.
  • - Preparing design documentation, maintaining PCB libraries, and participating in design reviews.
  • - Supporting prototype bring-up, testing, and transition to production.

This is a full-time, remote-role based.

Qualifications

  • - Strong foundation in circuit design and electronics, with experience translating system requirements into robust PCB layouts.
  • - Knowledge of analog circuit design, power distribution, grounding strategies, and noise reduction techniques.
  • - Understanding of digital design concepts, including microcontrollers, sensors, communication interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN), and power management circuits.
  • - Exposure to RF layout practices and high-frequency signal routing.
  • - Proficiency with PCB design tools such as Altium Designer, KiCad, OrCAD, or similar software.
  • - Familiarity with DFM/DFT guidelines, PCB stack-up design, IPC standards, and EMI/EMC best practices.
  • - Ability to read and interpret datasheets, reference designs, and technical specifications.
  • - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a cross-functional engineering environment.
  • - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • - Experience designing UAV flight controllers or embedded hardware systems.
  • - Knowledge of IMUs, barometers, GPS, ESC interfaces, telemetry radios, and drone power systems.
  • - Experience with 4-layer or higher PCB designs and high-current power routing.
  • - Understanding of vibration, thermal, and reliability considerations in aerial platforms.
