Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior PCB Design Engineer with extensive experience in high-speed, multi-layer PCB design and layout development. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Allegro and/or Altium Designer, PCB library management, footprint creation, EMI/EMC-compliant design practices, and industry standards. The role involves working closely with hardware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to deliver robust and manufacturable PCB designs from concept through production.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-speed, multi-layer PCB layouts using Allegro and/or Altium Designer.
• Create and optimize PCB stack-ups considering signal integrity, impedance control, power integrity, and manufacturability.
• Perform PCB layout activities including differential pair routing, matched delay routing, length matching, impedance-controlled routing, and high-speed signal design.
• Create, validate, and maintain component footprints, symbols, and PCB libraries as per IPC standards.
• Work closely with hardware engineers to understand schematics and convert designs into production-ready PCB layouts.
• Conduct design reviews and implement DFM, DFA, and DFT guidelines.
• Ensure PCB designs comply with EMI/EMC requirements and industry best practices.
• Generate manufacturing outputs including Gerber files, assembly drawings, fabrication drawings, BOMs, and documentation.
• Support prototype bring-up, hardware testing, debugging, and design validation activities.
• Coordinate with PCB fabrication and assembly vendors to resolve design and manufacturing issues.
• Maintain design documentation and revision control throughout the product lifecycle.

Mandatory Skills

• 6+ years of experience in PCB Design and Layout Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Allegro and/or Altium Designer.
• Strong expertise in:
• High-speed PCB design
• Multi-layer PCB layouts
• PCB stack-up design
• Differential pair routing
• Impedance-controlled routing
• Length matching and matched delay routing
• Sound knowledge of electrical and electronic components, including Surface Mount (SMT) and Through-Hole technologies.
• Strong understanding of PCB design guidelines for signal integrity, power integrity, EMI, and EMC.
• Hands-on experience in:
• Footprint creation and validation
• Symbol creation
• PCB library management
• Layout design verification
• Good knowledge of IPC standards:
• IPC-2221A
• IPC-SM-782
• IPC-7351
• Familiarity with UL and MIL standards.
• Exposure to hardware testing, board bring-up, and troubleshooting.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with DFM, DFA, and DFT methodologies.
• Knowledge of automotive, industrial, aerospace, medical, or consumer electronics products.
• Familiarity with EMC compliance and regulatory requirements.
• Experience interacting with fabrication and assembly vendors.

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or a related field.
