Your Role And Responsibilities
The Card Design Engineer designs complex PCB designs for our hardware products. This position supports all phases of design, including schematic capture, layout, symbol and footprint creation, and the generation and release of all required PCB manufacturing information. The engineer will work in a fast-paced environment with a team of electrical, mechanical, signal integrity, and power engineers as well as project management and physical design technicians. The successful candidate will be a resourceful problem solver who is able to work around technical obstacles and work independently with little direct supervision.
Principle Duties And Responsibilities
- Gathering requirements for card design from other skill areas such as the Card Planning, Project Management, Power Development, Signal Integrity, and System Architecture Teams
- Interlocking schedule and delivery plans with project management and other stakeholders
- Generating and processing schematics for each card design
- Managing extensive reviews for each portion of a design and implementing agreed upon changes
- Performing extensive validation on design with both industry and locally generated utilities
- Packaging and processing logics for physical design team engagement
- Monitoring and supervising the physical layout of card design
- Generating the data required for the manufacture of the card
- Releasing manufacturing data via Product Lifecycle Management tools and repositories
- Continuously monitoring performance, field issues, and yield rates and taking the necessary actions to solve any problems
- Consistently increasing skill set by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, participating in associated organizations and more
- Highly organized, detail oriented, and excelling in time management

- 5 years of experience in HW development with a focus on PCB development, debug, and test
- Experience with Schematic Capture tools and processes for PCB design
- Design and verification of PCBs, particularly motherboards

Lab experience bringing up, troubleshooting, and testing hardware
- 10 years of experience in HW development
- Experience with Cadence Design Systems’ tool suite, especially for logic design and PCB layout
- Demonstrated experience programming

At embedd.it, we power hardware-software integration in embedded devices. We turn fragmented semiconductor chip data into configurable digital twins, then deterministically generate code, tests, and documentation – making integration faster, cheaper, and resilient to supply chain shocks.
We’re looking for a true legend – someone with abstract thinking and deep expertise in low-level software development. You’ll build vendor-agnostic tooling for MCU and peripheral integration to solve hardware-software integration once and for all. We work at the intersection of embedded systems, code generation, compilers, and machine learning. It’s your chance to help redefine how low-level development is done.
Responsibilities
- Drive the architecture of the driver structures and system layout
- Define scalable patterns for cross-architectural integration across bare-metal, Zephyr, Linux, and other environments
- Deconstruct complex SoC device trees and translate hardware descriptions into structured internal models for automated reasoning
- Partner with the ML team to shape data and annotation models for AI-driven data-extraction tooling
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in embedded systems development, including bare-metal and RTOS-based systems
- Proficiency in C/C++
- Familiarity with firmware configuration, SoC bring-up, and system-level debugging
- Hands-on experience with code generation tools, or low-level compiler/decompiler/emulator technologies
- Strong background in embedded toolchains: compilers, linkers, debuggers, and build systems
- Python or scripting for automation and tooling is a plus
- Experience with functional-safety standards is a plus
