Medical Robotics Engineer (Remote, Full-Time) – Rex.zone
Design, integrate, and validate robotic systems used in healthcare workflows (surgical robotics, rehabilitation devices, hospital automation). You will work across robotics software, perception, controls, and safety-focused V&V in regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities

Design and implement robotics software components: perception, kinematics, motion planning, and control

Integrate sensors (cameras, encoders, IMUs, force/torque) and build sensor fusion pipelines

Develop real-time control strategies; tune controllers for precision, stability, and latency

Create simulation and hardware-in-the-loop test setups to reproduce clinical scenarios

Write verification plans, test protocols, and automated test suites supporting V&V
-
Maintain requirements traceability and documentation aligned with FDA design controls and ISO 13485

Support risk management activities (hazard analysis inputs, mitigations, verification evidence)

Troubleshoot issues via logs, experiments, and cross-functional collaboration

Support manufacturing test strategies, calibration procedures, and end-of-line validation

Contribute to coding standards, code reviews, and CI pipelines for safety-critical software
Required Qualifications

Mid-Senior experience in robotics engineering, controls, or embedded software

Proficiency in C++ and/or Python; experience with ROS/ROS2 (or similar middleware)

Strong foundations in kinematics, dynamics, control theory, and motion planning

Experience integrating sensors, calibration workflows, and real-time performance profiling

Ability to write clear test plans, run experiments, and interpret results

Experience in regulated or safety-critical environments (medical devices preferred)
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with surgical robotics, rehabilitation robotics, or hospital automation

Familiarity with IEC 60601, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, and FDA design controls

Computer vision for tracking, pose estimation, or segmentation

Embedded Linux, microcontrollers, and protocols (CAN, SPI, I2C, Ethernet)

Simulation tools (Gazebo, Isaac Sim, MuJoCo) and digital twins
Remote Work
This is a US-based Remote role. Occasional travel may be required for lab integration, validation, or manufacturing readiness.
Compensation
: $30–$50 per hour (hourly base salary).
