Mechatronics Engineer – Control / Firmware

We are building the first in-orbit energy infrastructure.

At ORiS, we design laser-based systems to transmit power in space.

Location: Turin, Italy (hybrid)

What you will do:

• Develop real-time control systems (PID, modeling, state estimation)
• Work on laser pointing and tracking systems
• Integrate software with sensors, electronics, and hardware
• Contribute from simulation to lab testing to deployment

Requirements:

• Strong background in control systems
• Experience with embedded firmware (C/C++, real-time systems)
• Sensor integration and signal processing knowledge
• Fluent in written and spoken English

Nice to have:

• ROS, MATLAB/Simulink
• Motor control (BLDC, stepper, servo)
• Python (tracking, vision)
• Robotics / aerospace experience

Salary range: € 40k – € 60k
