Job Description

About the Company

We're looking for a Lead Embedded Hardware Engineer who enjoys taking products from concept through to production. You'll design, layout, bring up and debug digital and mixed-signal electronics, working with everything from low-power microcontrollers through to high-performance MPU-based systems.

About the Role

This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys solving difficult technical challenges, taking ownership of their work, and having a direct impact on the products they develop. Whilst the title is "Lead", this is an individual contributor position with no direct reports. Instead, you'll be one of the key technical voices within a highly capable engineering team, helping shape the next generation of embedded electronic products.

Responsibilities

  • Design digital, analogue, and mixed-signal electronic circuits
  • Develop embedded hardware using MCU and MPU-based architectures
  • Create schematics, perform PCB layout, and support board bring-up
  • Debug and troubleshoot complex hardware issues
  • Collaborate with software, manufacturing, and product teams
  • Drive engineering best practices and robust development processes
  • Contribute to innovative product development from concept through production

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in embedded hardware and electronics design
  • Strong experience in digital and mixed-signal board design
  • Strong experience in schematic capture, PCB layout, bring-up, and debugging
  • Experience with MCU and MPU-based systems
  • Experience using OrCAD or similar PCB design tools

Required Skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills and technical curiosity
  • Interest in AI tools and how they can improve engineering productivity
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach
  • Someone who is naturally inquisitive, proactive, and driven to continually improve

Preferred Skills

This is an opportunity to join a growing engineering business where good ideas are valued, ownership is encouraged, and engineers have the freedom to make a genuine impact. You'll work on a diverse range of embedded hardware projects and be given the autonomy to solve problems, improve products, and influence technical direction.

Pay range and compensation package

$120,000 - $150,000 base salary

Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas

High level of technical ownership

Diverse embedded hardware projects

Long-term growth opportunity within a scaling engineering organisation
