About The Role
As a Junior Robotics AI and Simulation Engineer in the SoftServe Robotics Group, you will, together with the team, build intelligent robotic systems that operate in both simulated and real-world environments. You’ll work at the intersection of AI, robotics, and simulation technologies, helping global clients - from innovative start-ups to large enterprises - solve complex, real-world challenges across industries such as healthcare, automotive, retail, enterprise, and education.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work hands-on with robots worldwide, apply cutting-edge AI research, and take part in transforming ideas into production-ready robotic solutions.
Responsibilities
-
Assist in designing and developing robotics AI solutions (perception, navigation, or control) under guidance from senior engineers
-
Implement and test components of AI pipelines (e.g., data preparation, model training, evaluation) using established frameworks
-
Contribute to the development of robotics perception modules (e.g., object detection, segmentation, tracking) and basic planning components
-
Work with simulation and Synthetic Data Generation environments (e.g., Isaac Sim, Gazebo, Blender) to validate algorithms and generate data
-
Support integration of AI models into robotic systems (ROS/ROS2-based systems, edge devices, or cloud-connected platforms)
-
Participate in testing and validation of robotics solutions in simulation and real-world setups
-
Write clean, maintainable code following team standards, and contribute to debugging and issue resolution
-
Collaborate closely with team members and actively participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing
-
Conduct short, targeted research and follow guidance to apply modern approaches in robotics AI
-
Document developed features and support the reproducibility of experiments and solutions
Requirements
-
1+ years of experience in robotics, AI, or computer vision with strong Python and/or C++ programming skills
-
Familiarity with frameworks such as ROS/ROS2, OpenCV, TensorFlow, or PyTorch, and understanding of perception tasks
-
Knowledge of robotics fundamentals, including localization, mapping, motion planning, or control
-
Experience working in Linux/Unix environments with familiarity in version control, testing, and debugging practices
-
Awareness of Deep Learning, CNNs, transformers, or GenAI and vision-language models
-
Exposure to simulation tools like Isaac Sim, Gazebo, or Blender, and understanding of synthetic data approaches, is a plus
-
Familiarity with CI/CD, MLOps concepts, or cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is an advantage
-
An analytical mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic environment
-
Skills to communicate effectively in English within a multicultural, collaborative environment, and strong motivation to grow in the robotics AI domain
