Job Description

Industrial Robotics Engineer (Remote, Full Time)

Rex.zone is hiring mid-senior Industrial Robotics Engineers to design, program, integrate, and commission industrial robot systems supporting smart-factory automation across the US. Work is primarily remote for programming support, documentation, simulation/offline programming, troubleshooting, and coordination; occasional on-site commissioning may be required per assignment.

What You Will Do

  • Create, debug, and optimize robot programs, paths, and motion profiles to meet takt time, OEE, and quality targets
  • Commission robotic cells and validate IO mapping, PLC handshakes, safety interlocks, and fault recovery sequences
  • Configure vision-guided applications (calibration, localization) for pick-and-place, inspection, and machine tending
  • Specify and validate EOAT (payloads, pneumatic/electric constraints) and support cell bring-up
  • Perform cycle-time studies, throughput improvements, and production support to improve uptime
  • Develop commissioning checklists, runbooks, operator documentation, and acceptance test evidence (FAT/SAT)
  • Conduct remote troubleshooting and root-cause analysis across hardware, controls, and integration boundaries

Workflows & Technologies

  • Robot programming fundamentals: frames, TCP setup, blending, singularity avoidance, collision checks
  • Controls/integration: PLC integration, IO troubleshooting, industrial Ethernet/fieldbus basics, safety PLC and E-stops
  • Safety and validation: risk assessment, PFMEA, lockout/tagout, safety validation practices
  • Production processes: change control, versioning, commissioning documentation, and acceptance testing

Required Qualifications

  • Mid-senior experience delivering industrial robot integrations and/or commissioning
  • Strong robot programming and cell bring-up skills with measurable outcomes (downtime reduction, throughput improvements)
  • Understanding of PLC interfaces, IO mapping, and industrial networking basics
  • Working knowledge of industrial safety standards and risk assessment practices
  • Ability to document procedures, test plans, and commissioning results clearly in distributed teams

Nice to Have

  • Offline programming/simulation, digital twin exposure
  • Advanced 2D/3D vision, calibration, inspection pipelines
  • Experience with welding, palletizing, machine tending, or metrology/inspection cells
  • Industry 4.0 telemetry and MES/SCADA touchpoints

Compensation

  • Base pay: $30–$50 per hour (depending on experience and assignment scope)
