Rex.zone connects engineers with remote industrial automation opportunities. This remote, full-time role focuses on designing, integrating, and validating robotic automation systems for industrial environments across programming, motion planning, perception, and controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design industrial robot workcells including tooling, EOAT requirements, and sensor placement
  • Develop robot programs using OEM environments and/or ROS-based stacks
  • Implement motion planning, trajectory optimization, and cycle-time improvements
  • Integrate PLCs, fieldbus (e.g., EtherNet/IP, PROFINET), and safety PLC logic with robot controllers
  • Calibrate robots, cameras, and coordinate frames for repeatable performance
  • Build perception pipelines using 2D/3D vision for picking, inspection, and localization
  • Run simulation/digital twin validation and offline programming
  • Execute commissioning, acceptance testing, and production ramp support
  • Perform root-cause analysis on downtime events and implement corrective actions
  • Document SOPs, maintenance procedures, and validation reports aligned with QA and safety standards

Required Qualifications

  • Mid-senior experience delivering industrial robotics or automation systems
  • Hands-on robot programming and commissioning experience
  • PLC and safety systems integration (e-stops, light curtains, safety-rated monitored stop)
  • Proficiency in Python and/or C++
  • Experience with ROS/ROS2 or equivalent middleware
  • Ability to create test plans, run QA evaluations, and track reliability metrics (MTBF/MTTR)

Compensation

  • Competitive hourly rate: $30–$50/hr
