Job Description

Industrial Robotics Engineer (Remote, Full-Time)

Rex.zone connects engineers to remote-first industrial automation work. In this role, you will deliver industrial robotics engineering outcomes for manufacturing and warehouse automation programs, supporting robot cell design, offline programming, controls integration, and production readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own robot application engineering for use cases such as palletizing, machine tending, welding, pick-and-place, and inspection
  • Develop and maintain robot programs, job files, recovery routines, and clear operator instructions
  • Integrate robots with PLCs, safety PLCs, conveyors, grippers, sensors, and vision systems
  • Perform offline programming and simulation using digital twin tools; run cycle time studies
  • Create and execute FAT/SAT plans, commissioning checklists, and production acceptance criteria
  • Troubleshoot automation faults using root-cause analysis and structured problem solving
  • Maintain controls documentation (I/O lists, network diagrams, safety validation records) and change control
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, maintenance, quality, and EHS to meet uptime, yield, and safety targets
  • Support continuous improvement tied to OEE, downtime reduction, and changeover optimization

Required Qualifications

  • Mid-Senior experience delivering industrial robot automation in production environments
  • Hands-on robot programming knowledge (frames, tool data, path planning, routines, error recovery)
  • Experience integrating robots with PLCs, industrial networks, and discrete I/O
  • Understanding of industrial safety standards and safeguarding (risk assessment, interlocks, E-stops)
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, troubleshoot controls issues, and document solutions
  • Strong communication skills for cross-functional execution in remote-first teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with FANUC, ABB, KUKA, or Yaskawa ecosystems
  • Exposure to ROS/ROS2, OPC UA, MQTT, or modern OT connectivity patterns
  • Experience with digital twin tools and simulation-based commissioning

Work Arrangement & Compensation

  • Remote, full-time role supporting commissioning collaboration, documentation, simulation, and programming support
  • Hourly base pay range: $30–$50 (USD)

How To Apply

Apply through Rex.zone with a resume highlighting industrial robotics deployments, commissioning experience, PLC integration, vision (if applicable), safety validation, and measurable improvements (cycle time, downtime, OEE).
