Job Description

About The Role

Rex.zone is hiring a Remote Industrial Robotics Engineer to design, integrate, and optimize industrial robot cells for manufacturing and logistics use cases (pick-and-place, palletizing, welding support, machine tending, and material handling). You will collaborate with controls, manufacturing, and integration teams to improve throughput, reduce downtime, and ensure safe operation using standards such as ISO 10218 and risk assessment practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain robot programs using structured commissioning plans
  • Integrate robots with PLCs, sensors, safety controllers, and industrial networks (I/O, interlocks, fieldbus)
  • Support virtual commissioning, offline programming, and cycle time optimization
  • Diagnose faults via logs, alarms, backups, and signal tracing; implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Specify and validate end-of-arm tooling (EOAT), grippers, and fixtures aligned to payload/process constraints
  • Implement safety requirements: safeguarding, interlocks, and risk assessment documentation (ISO 10218)
  • Create documentation (I/O lists, wiring assumptions, robot backups, SOPs, training materials)
  • Coordinate remotely with vendors/system integrators to resolve on-site constraints and reduce downtime
  • Support continuous improvement (OEE tracking, root-cause analysis, maintenance planning)

Required Qualifications

  • Mid-Senior experience in industrial robotics, automation, or controls engineering
  • Hands-on robot programming and commissioning experience in production environments
  • Working knowledge of PLC concepts, discrete I/O, and industrial control basics
  • Experience with safety practices and risk assessment; familiarity with ISO 10218
  • Strong troubleshooting approach for electromechanical systems and clear documentation habits
  • Strong communication skills for remote collaboration across distributed teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industrial vision systems experience (guidance/inspection/alignment)
  • Exposure to motion control tuning, path optimization, and collision avoidance workflows
  • EOAT design constraints knowledge (pneumatics/hydraulics, payload calculations)
  • Familiarity with simulation tools, offline programming, or digital twin concepts
