About The Role
Rex.zone is hiring an Industrial Robotics Engineer to design, integrate, and support industrial robotic cells for automated material handling, assembly, and inspection. You will work across robot programming, PLC and I/O integration, safety validation, commissioning support, and continuous improvement to increase uptime and throughput.
Key Responsibilities
-
Own robot programming standards (path planning, tool calibration, TCP and coordinate management)
-
Integrate robots with PLCs, sensors, servo drives, and safety systems (industrial networking and I/O mapping)
-
Develop commissioning checklists, acceptance tests, and troubleshooting playbooks to reduce downtime
-
Implement vision-guided robotics workflows for localization, orientation, inspection triggers, and quality gates
-
Support simulation and offline programming to de-risk deployments and reduce time to production
-
Perform root-cause analysis on faults (alarms, collisions, mis-picks, cycle variance) and drive corrective actions
-
Ensure compliance with machine safety requirements (risk assessments, interlocks, safety PLC, functional safety validation)
-
Partner with operations to monitor OEE, reduce scrap, and deliver reliability improvements
Required Qualifications
-
Mid-Senior experience delivering industrial robotic cell integrations and commissioning support
-
Hands-on robot programming (e.g., FANUC, ABB, KUKA, Yaskawa) and production troubleshooting
-
Strong PLC fundamentals (ladder/structured text), I/O integration, and industrial protocols (e.g., EtherNet/IP, PROFINET)
-
Knowledge of motion control, cycle-time optimization, and repeatability constraints
-
Experience with machine safety and risk assessment practices
-
Ability to read electrical schematics and collaborate across mechanical/electrical teams
Preferred Qualifications
-
ROS/ROS2 integration exposure and bridging to PLC/industrial networks
-
Vision systems experience (2D/3D cameras, calibration, lighting, bin picking or inspection)
-
Offline programming/simulation tools (e.g., RoboDK, Process Simulate, RobotStudio)
-
Data-driven continuous improvement (downtime analysis, alarm Pareto, preventive maintenance planning)
