Job Description

Healthcare Robotics Engineer (São Paulo) — Remote

Join Rex.zone to build, integrate, and validate healthcare robotics and medical automation systems used in clinics, hospitals, and home care. This role focuses on production-grade robotics features, safety, reliability, and verification/validation aligned to real-world medical device constraints.

What You Will Work On

  • Design and integrate robotics subsystems for hospital automation, assistive robotics, and rehabilitation robotics
  • Implement perception pipelines: computer vision, depth sensing, and sensor fusion for patient/environment awareness
  • Develop motion planning and control: trajectory generation, impedance/admittance control for safe HRI
  • Build ROS 2 nodes, interfaces, and message contracts for reliable robot software architecture
  • Implement SLAM and localization for navigation in dynamic clinical environments
  • Create verification and validation plans, test protocols, and automated regression tests tied to safety requirements
  • Collaborate with clinical, hardware, QA, and product partners to translate use cases into measurable metrics

Required Qualifications

  • Mid-to-senior experience delivering robotics features into production or field deployments
  • Strong programming skills in C++ and/or Python with solid software engineering practices
  • Hands-on ROS/ROS 2 experience and debugging distributed robot middleware systems
  • Familiarity with perception/autonomy concepts: sensor fusion, SLAM, motion planning, and computer vision
  • Control systems fundamentals with practical tuning and validation experience
  • Embedded Linux experience and interfacing with sensors/actuators
  • Ability to write clear technical documentation and traceable test evidence in safety-critical contexts

Preferred

  • Medical/healthcare robotics experience (assistive devices, hospital logistics, medical automation)
  • Safety engineering: risk analysis, hazard identification, FMEA, and V&V workflows
  • Simulation and hardware-in-the-loop testing (e.g., Gazebo/Ignition, Isaac Sim)
  • Edge AI inference optimization for perception workloads

Tools & Workflow

ROS 2, C++/Python, Git-based CI/CD, Linux, Docker, simulation environments, automated testing frameworks, sensor SDKs, and requirements tracking. Emphasis on reproducible builds, log-driven debugging, telemetry, and test-first validation.
