Healthcare Robotics Engineer (São Paulo) — Remote
Join Rex.zone to build, integrate, and validate healthcare robotics and medical automation systems used in clinics, hospitals, and home care. This role focuses on production-grade robotics features, safety, reliability, and verification/validation aligned to real-world medical device constraints.
What You Will Work On

Design and integrate robotics subsystems for hospital automation, assistive robotics, and rehabilitation robotics

Implement perception pipelines: computer vision, depth sensing, and sensor fusion for patient/environment awareness

Develop motion planning and control: trajectory generation, impedance/admittance control for safe HRI

Build ROS 2 nodes, interfaces, and message contracts for reliable robot software architecture

Implement SLAM and localization for navigation in dynamic clinical environments

Create verification and validation plans, test protocols, and automated regression tests tied to safety requirements

Collaborate with clinical, hardware, QA, and product partners to translate use cases into measurable metrics
Required Qualifications

Mid-to-senior experience delivering robotics features into production or field deployments

Strong programming skills in C++ and/or Python with solid software engineering practices

Hands-on ROS/ROS 2 experience and debugging distributed robot middleware systems

Familiarity with perception/autonomy concepts: sensor fusion, SLAM, motion planning, and computer vision

Control systems fundamentals with practical tuning and validation experience

Embedded Linux experience and interfacing with sensors/actuators

Ability to write clear technical documentation and traceable test evidence in safety-critical contexts
Preferred

Medical/healthcare robotics experience (assistive devices, hospital logistics, medical automation)

Safety engineering: risk analysis, hazard identification, FMEA, and V&V workflows

Simulation and hardware-in-the-loop testing (e.g., Gazebo/Ignition, Isaac Sim)

Edge AI inference optimization for perception workloads
Tools & Workflow
ROS 2, C++/Python, Git-based CI/CD, Linux, Docker, simulation environments, automated testing frameworks, sensor SDKs, and requirements tracking. Emphasis on reproducible builds, log-driven debugging, telemetry, and test-first validation.
Pay
Competitive hourly rate:
$30–$50/hr
