Job Summary

Qubist is seeking an experienced Senior Hardware Test Lead to lead hardware verification and validation activities for complex electronic systems. The candidate will be responsible for defining test strategies, managing certification and compliance testing, developing automated validation solutions, coordinating with external laboratories, and driving root cause analysis for hardware failures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive Verification & Validation (V&V) strategies, test plans, procedures, and reports independently.
  • Lead functional, integration, system, reliability, environmental, and certification testing activities.
  • Plan and execute EMI/EMC compliance testing and support certification processes.
  • Perform environmental qualification testing in accordance with applicable industry standards.
  • Design and develop automated hardware test setups, fixtures, and test jigs.
  • Review electronic schematics, PCB designs, and hardware architecture to ensure testability.
  • Diagnose hardware failures, isolate faults, identify failure modes, and perform root cause analysis.
  • Coordinate end-to-end testing activities with external certification and testing laboratories.
  • Collaborate with hardware, firmware, software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to resolve product issues.
  • Support Design Verification (DV), Product Validation (PV), and production validation activities.
  • Review manufacturing processes and provide inputs to improve product quality and production readiness.
  • Develop and maintain automated test frameworks and scripting for hardware validation.
  • Mentor junior engineers and establish hardware testing best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • BE/B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, or related disciplines.
  • OR B.Sc./M.Sc. in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, or equivalent.

Required Skills

  • 7–10 years of experience in hardware verification, validation, and testing.
  • Strong experience in creating V&V plans and executing complete hardware validation programs.
  • Good understanding of avionics, automotive, or other regulated industry standards.
  • Hands-on experience with EMI/EMC testing and certification activities.
  • Experience in environmental qualification testing.
  • Expertise in developing automated hardware test fixtures and test jigs.
  • Strong understanding of analog and digital electronics, electronic components, and PCB design.
  • Ability to perform failure analysis, fault isolation, and root cause investigation.
  • Experience coordinating with NABL/accredited external test laboratories and certification agencies.
  • Understanding of manufacturing, production validation, and mass production processes.
  • Strong automation scripting skills (Python, LabVIEW, Shell, or similar).
  • Excellent technical leadership, planning, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in Aerospace, Defence, Automotive, Industrial Automation, or Medical Electronics.
  • Familiarity with standards such as DO-160, MIL-STD, IEC, ISO, IPC, CISPR, IEC 61000, ISO 16750, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing and automated validation systems.
  • Experience with configuration management, defect tracking, and requirements traceability tools.
  • Exposure to reliability engineering, DFMEA/PFMEA, and qualification testing.
