Job Description

Job Title: Hardware Engineer II

Location: Sunnyvale, CA (Onsite)

Duration: 12-Month Contract W2


We are seeking a Hardware Engineer to support the development, validation, and testing of advanced electronic hardware systems. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative consumer technology products, collaborating closely with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.


The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on hardware debugging experience, a solid understanding of electronic systems, and the ability to develop and execute test strategies that ensure product quality and performance.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in hardware development, validation, and debugging of electronic systems.
  • Strong hands-on experience with lab equipment, including: Oscilloscopes, Logic analyzers, Digital multimeters (DMMs), Bench power supplies
  • Experience reading and interpreting electronic schematics.
  • Experience supporting board-level bring-up, validation, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Experience developing test procedures and documenting results in a clear, repeatable format.
  • Proficiency with Python for test automation, debugging, or engineering tools development.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with wearable devices, consumer electronics, AR/VR products, mobile devices, or other embedded hardware platforms.
  • Experience supporting hardware development from prototype through validation.
  • Familiarity with design-for-test (DFT) and design-for-manufacturing (DFM) principles.
  • Experience working in fast-paced product development environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the design, bring-up, validation, and debugging of electronic hardware, including boards, modules, and subsystems.
  • Develop and execute hardware test plans, validation procedures, and characterization activities.
  • Perform hands-on lab debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, digital multimeters (DMMs), power supplies, and other test equipment.
  • Investigate and resolve hardware issues through systematic root-cause analysis.
  • Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and hardware documentation.
  • Develop Python-based tools and scripts to support testing, automation, and debugging efforts.
  • Document validation results, test procedures, engineering changes, and technical findings in a structured and reproducible manner.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide input on testability, manufacturability, and reliability considerations.
  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, firmware, quality, and manufacturing teams to support program milestones.
  • Track technical risks, communicate project status, and support issue resolution activities.
