The Role
• Lead the mechanical design and integration of delivery robot systems within logistics vehicles, focusing on docking, charging, storage, deployment, and retrieval.
• Design mechanical aspects for station-side infrastructure, including cart docking and robot handoff workflows.
• Translate operational requirements into production-ready mechanical designs suitable for high-volume logistics operations.
• Own the end-to-end mechanical design process, from concept and prototyping through validation and production.
• Ensure mechanical solutions meet stringent safety, ergonomic, and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, firmware, robotics, and vehicle engineering for seamless integration.
What You'll Need
• Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures.
• Proven expertise in mechanical design, with a focus on robustness, cost, and manufacturability.
• Ability to balance competing requirements in a high-volume, fast-paced logistics environment.
• Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production.
• Strong understanding of integrating mechanical systems within vehicle and/or robotic applications.
• Experience with aspects of product development lifecycle including DFMEA, tolerance analysis, and environmental testing.
