[HYBRID] Embedded Software Engineer

Location: Littleton, MA (Hybrid Flexibility 2-3 days/week after 6 months )

Salary: $170,000-$185,000

[HYBRID] Embedded Software Engineer (hardware exp. req.) Description


Our client, a technology solutions provider, is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join their team in Littleton, MA. Despite the title, this is not a traditional embedded firmware development role. Instead, we're looking for an engineer with experience in hardware environments who enjoys building Linux-based automation for server provisioning, OS deployment, validation, and production infrastructure. This newly created position will help expand automation across global production environments by developing scalable solutions using Python and Bash. The ideal candidate has experience working in hardware manufacturing, systems integration, or similar infrastructure environments and enjoys solving complex technical challenges while helping shape the future of the company's automation platform.


Important Note: This position offers WFH flexibility (2–3 days/week) after onboarding, which typically lasts around 6 months. During the onboarding period, onsite work in Littleton, MA is required each day.


[HYBRID] Embedded Software Engineer (hardware exp. req.) Responsibilities


• Design and build scalable automation solutions using Python, Bash, and related tools

• Develop workflows for server provisioning, deployment, validation, and configuration

• Create tools to streamline hardware configuration, testing, and production processes

• Support BIOS, firmware, and operating system deployment automation initiatives

• Troubleshoot Linux systems, hardware, networking, and automation-related issues

• Partner with engineering teams to define automation standards and best practices

• Improve consistency, reliability, and repeatability across production environments

• Support automation initiatives across global manufacturing and system integration sites

• Identify manual processes and build scalable automation frameworks from the ground up


[HYBRID] Embedded Software Engineer (hardware exp. req.) Qualifications


• 2+ years of experience in hardware manufacturing or hardware integration required

• 5+ years of experience building automation solutions in Linux environments required

• Strong Python and Bash scripting experience required

• Experience designing and building automation solutions from the ground up, including requirements gathering, implementation, and continuous improvement required

U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency in the US is required for this position due to federal government/military contract requirements
