🚀 Now Hiring | FW Development Test Engineer

📍 Austin, TX | 🏢 Onsite | 📅 12-Month Contract | 💲 $50.00–$70.00/hour (W2)


We are seeking an experienced FW Development Test Engineer to join a leading organization at the forefront of semiconductor innovation and next-generation data center technologies. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the validation and quality of cutting-edge FPGA and embedded firmware solutions powering high-performance GPU platforms.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for FPGA and embedded firmware systems.
  • Design and implement automated test frameworks for functional, integration, and system-level validation.
  • Validate firmware and FPGA solutions across complex SoC-based architectures.
  • Develop automation tools using Python, C/C++, and scripting languages .
  • Integrate automated validation into CI/CD pipelines using Git, Jenkins, or similar tools.
  • Perform system-level debugging and root cause analysis across firmware, FPGA, and hardware.
  • Support board bring-up, pre-silicon and post-silicon validation activities.
  • Analyze test results, identify defects, and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to drive quality improvements.


Preferred Qualifications

✔ 3–8 years of experience in firmware, FPGA, embedded systems, or platform validation

✔ Strong programming skills in Python and C/C++

✔ Experience with FPGA validation and embedded firmware testing

✔ Knowledge of hardware interfaces including PCIe, SPI, I2C, USB, and Ethernet/TCP-IP

✔ Hands-on experience with Jenkins, Git, and CI/CD automation

✔ Familiarity with lab equipment such as logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and protocol analyzers

✔ Experience with board schematics, hardware debugging, and system bring-up

✔ Exposure to BMC, Redfish, IPMI, PLDM, or MCTP is a plus


Education

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science , or a related discipline.
