About Us

At Hoomanely, we're building the first precision health platform for pets — a sensor-driven, AI-powered ecosystem that decodes the health signals dogs give off every day, the ones most people miss, and turns them into insight you can act on.

It starts with EverBowl, a clinical-grade device that reads hydration, intake, body temperature, eating behavior, and the sound of a bite — building toward a single daily wellness score. Paired with the Hoomanely app and Protect+, our insurance-rewards membership, we're helping pet parents move from guesswork to knowing. Calm. Confident. In control.

We're not building another pet gadget. None of it works without firmware that never fails — sensors reading in sync, data flowing over BLE without loss, updates reaching every device in the field without bricking a single one. That's the problem this role exists to solve.

About the Role

We're looking for a firmware engineer to build and maintain reliable embedded systems for Hoomanely's sensor-driven hardware, working closely with the Lead Firmware Engineer across sensor integration, connectivity, and power management.

What You'll Do
  • Develop and maintain RTOS-based firmware for embedded devices, keeping real-time performance stable
  • Implement drivers and communication logic for sensors over I2C, SPI, or UART, and support arbitration across shared buses
  • Support BLE-based firmware development for reliable data transfer between devices and the cloud
  • Contribute to firmware-level battery charging safety, thermal cutoff logic, and clock stability under real-world conditions
  • Support OTA update mechanisms, including testing rollout and rollback behavior before release
  • Debug hardware-firmware interaction issues using tools such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
  • Write and maintain unit and hardware-in-the-loop tests to catch issues before they reach the field
You Might Be a Fit If…
  • You have a B.Tech in Electronics, Computer Science, or related field from a Tier 1 institute (IIT, NIT, BITS Pilani, or equivalent) — mandatory
  • You have 4+ years of embedded firmware experience
  • You have a solid understanding of RTOS concepts and at least one communication protocol used in sensor-based systems (I2C, SPI, UART, or BLE)
  • You're proficient in C and C++ for embedded and microcontroller-based systems
  • You're comfortable reading datasheets and debugging at the hardware-firmware boundary
  • Bonus: experience with battery charging circuits or power-path management
  • Bonus: exposure to OTA update mechanisms for fleet-deployed embedded devices
  • Bonus: experience working with thermal sensors, IMUs, or camera modules
Why Join Us?
  • Build firmware for hardware that's actually out in the field, on real dogs — not just on a bench
  • Learn directly from the Lead Firmware Engineer while owning real pieces of the system
  • Take ownership early, with a direct line to the people building the rest of the product
  • Join a small, fast-moving team building a category-defining, sensor-driven product
