The heart of this spacecraft lies in its propulsion system, and that's why we are dedicated to developing our own cutting-edge cryogenic propulsion systems.
We are seeking a Firmware and Control Engineer to join our Huracan propulsion team!
In this role, you will be responsible for the development of firmware and control strategy of pump-drive inverters for a cryogenic rocket engine. You will also collaborate with a diverse team of engineers (e.g. power electronics, system control, mechatronics) working on different topics to ensure the successful integration and operation of these elements within our cryogenic engine.
We want you to help us in our mission by supporting the commissioning, troubleshooting and further improvement of the above-mentioned system.
Key responsibilities:
- Developing firmware for inverters (DC-AC converters).
- Defining control strategy, including computer simulations.
- Create and maintain a simple GUI (graphical user interface) for HW developers to operate the inverter in the lab easily.
- Performing lab tests and troubleshooting.
- Supporting hardware engineers in optimizing the design.

Preparing test and technical reports.
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Software or Electronics Engineering, or similar.
- Over 2 years of experience, preferably in aerospace, avionics, automotive or other high-reliability applications.
- Experience with C programming language for microcontrollers or DSPs.
- Experience with simulation software like PLECS, Matlab/Simulink or similar.
- Understanding electronic schematics and digital control principles of power electronics systems.
- Positive and flexible attitude in a constantly evolving environment.

- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Detail-oriented and committed to maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Fluency in English.
- Writing C code for three-phase drive/traction inverters.
- Experience with (Power) HIL (hardware-in-the-loop) prototyping.

Experience in GUI creation and data acquisition.

Senior Embedded Software Engineer

What we're looking for
At embedd.it, we power hardware-software integration in embedded devices. We turn fragmented semiconductor chip data into configurable digital twins, then deterministically generate code, tests, and documentation – making integration faster, cheaper, and resilient to supply chain shocks.
We’re looking for a true legend – someone with abstract thinking and deep expertise in low-level software development. You’ll build vendor-agnostic tooling for MCU and peripheral integration to solve hardware-software integration once and for all. We work at the intersection of embedded systems, code generation, compilers, and machine learning. It’s your chance to help redefine how low-level development is done.
Responsibilities
- Drive the architecture of the driver structures and system layout
- Define scalable patterns for cross-architectural integration across bare-metal, Zephyr, Linux, and other environments
- Deconstruct complex SoC device trees and translate hardware descriptions into structured internal models for automated reasoning
- Partner with the ML team to shape data and annotation models for AI-driven data-extraction tooling
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in embedded systems development, including bare-metal and RTOS-based systems
- Proficiency in C/C++
- Familiarity with firmware configuration, SoC bring-up, and system-level debugging
- Hands-on experience with code generation tools, or low-level compiler/decompiler/emulator technologies
- Strong background in embedded toolchains: compilers, linkers, debuggers, and build systems
- Python or scripting for automation and tooling is a plus
- Experience with functional-safety standards is a plus
