FPGA and Firmware Engineer - R&D

We are looking for an FPGA and Firmware Engineer, who will contribute to the development of our electronics designs in NeuroLF - our clinical Positron Emission Tomography system. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, implementation and testing of FPGA and electronics architecture in our nuclear medical imaging devices. You help build complex medical products while ensuring high quality, reliability, safety for patients, and maintainability.

Responsibilities include:

Development of FPGA and firmware solutions for nuclear medical devices, comprising light detection sensors, high-speed networking interfaces (Ethernet), data acquisition and processing, power / bias supply & distribution, serial interfaces.

  • Develop and optimize VHDL modules for real-time high-speed data acquisition
  • Implement high-throughput DSP algorithms for pulse processing and gamma-ray event detection.
  • Develop application firmware for SoC such as Xilinx Zynq
  • Design and execute unit and component tests in simulation environments to validate timing and logic.
  • Review of multilayer PCB design & development (experience with Altium Designer is preferred) for EMC
  • Support to assembly, testing and troubleshooting of parts and final products in laboratory (use of oscilloscope, multimeter, logic analyser, etc.)
  • Technical design, development, and documentation in accordance with medical device regulations (IEC 60601-1, ISO 13485, IEC 62304)
Preferred qualifications:
  • 5+ years experience
  • Master degree or higher
  • Experience in regulated industry is a plus
