FPGA Engineer (All Levels)

About the Role

At RTX, we tackle some of the most complex challenges in aerospace and defense to help create a safer, more secure world. Our Digital Products teams design advanced electronic systems used in mission-critical applications—from missile guidance and signal processing to high-speed digital communications.

We are seeking FPGA Design Engineers (All Levels) to contribute to the design, development, and integration of high-performance digital hardware systems using cutting-edge FPGA technologies.


What You’ll Do

  • Design, develop, and implement FPGA-based digital systems using VHDL, Verilog, or similar HDL
  • Perform design, simulation, analysis, testing, and integration of digital electronic modules
  • Support development of circuit card assemblies (CCAs) and system-level hardware solutions
  • Work with high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, and UART
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across hardware, software, and systems engineering
  • Participate in design reviews, debugging, and performance optimization
  • Contribute across the full lifecycle—from concept and architecture through production

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related STEM field
  • Minimum 2-4 years of professional experience in FPGA, digital design, or hardware development
  • Experience must be full-time professional experience (internships and coursework do not count)
  • Experience with HDL development (VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog)
  • Familiarity with digital circuit design, simulation, and verification
  • U.S. Citizenship is required (must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance)
