We are looking for a talented FPGA Designer Engineer (FPGA, VHDL, Verilog) who will design, implement and secure based communication subsystems for autonomous drone platforms, combining hardware-level development, resilient datalink engineering and cybersecurity expertise.

Location : Brasov, Romania (Hybrid - 3 days in office, 2 days remote)
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, implement and maintain FPGA-based modules using VHDL or Verilog for secure drone communication systems.
• Contribute to the design of safe and resilient ground and in-flight communication frameworks for autonomous drone platforms.
• Contribute to the secure communication framework for distributed drones and including AES-based encryption, secure key generation, distribution, and rotation.
• Support hardware-level cryptographic acceleration using FPGA modules and related embedded security technologies.
• Participate in preliminary scouting of current state-of-the-art communication, FPGA, cryptographic and based on high-level requirements.
• Participate in joint de-risking activities, lab testing, validation, and robustness assessments of the designed communication subsystem.
• Contribute to cybersecurity activities regarding drone secure design and architecture.
Requirements:
• Strong hands-on experience with FPGA development using VHDL or Verilog.
• Solid understanding of digital logic design, FPGA implementation flows, simulation, synthesis, timing analysis and debugging.
• Understanding of AES-based encryption and its implementation or acceleration in hardware.
• Ability to analyze system requirements and translate them into FPGA, communication, and cybersecurity design tasks.
• Experience with debugging, board bring up, lab testing, validation and hardware/software subsystems.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary engineering environment involving hardware, software, RF, avionics, and cybersecurity teams.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.
Nice to have:
• Experience in the drone, UAV, robotics, aerospace, or defense industry.
• Experience with Xilinx/AMD, Intel/Altera, Microchip/Microsemi, Lattice or similar FPGA platforms and toolchains.
• Previous experience supporting company-wide cybersecurity activities, hardware audits and hardening embedded systems.
