Responsibilities
The Embedded Software Engineer – will collaborate with the Engines Embedded Software Team in the Controls Systems Organization, the main responsibilities in this position are:
- Work within the guidelines of applicable GE Policies and Procedures, Engineering Standards for Critical Software.
- Solve technical problems with limited information and high complexity.
- Provide timely communication regarding project roadblocks, issues, results, and developments.
- Present results in technical forums and report-out to upper management forums.
- Project management: task-oriented, scheduling and planning.
- Own-work check.
- Propose innovative design and development ideas.

Proactive attitude: look for answers and support from various stakeholders and experts.
- Career completion in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, Mechatronics or related fields.
- Good written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish. Must be able to understand and communicate technical ideas in different engineering levels.
- Good programming skills in ANSI C/C++, Perl, Python or any other relevant scripting language.
- Presentation Skills: ability to communicate across functions.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills.

Self-driven, with proven analytical and organizational abilities.
- Familiarity with Lean/Flight Deck
- Familiarity with Project Management principles
- Knowledge of Python and/or Perl programming languages
- Familiarity with simulation models (e.g. jet-engine machine cycle) and Testing methodologies.
- Familiarity with configuration management principles and tools such as IBM DOORS, Change & Synergy.
