Knee2Me is an early-stage health technology startup developing a wearable device and companion application designed to improve adherence to at-home knee rehabilitation. What began as a student-led project has evolved into a mission-driven venture focused on making recovery more engaging, measurable, and motivating for patients.
Our team is passionate about using technology to address challenges we observed in rehabilitation, where patients often struggle to stay consistent with exercises once they leave the clinic. We believe better feedback, progress tracking, and accountability can lead to improved recovery outcomes and a more positive rehabilitation experience.
As a growing startup, we foster a collaborative and learning-oriented environment where team members have the opportunity to contribute directly to product development, influence technical decisions, and gain hands-on experience.
This is a part-time, volunteer Embedded Systems Intern role based in the Oakville/Burlington region of Ontario, Canada. The intern will assist in developing and refining embedded hardware and firmware for Knee2Me's wearable rehabilitation device.
Responsibilities include assembling and modifying electronic prototypes, soldering through-hole and surface-mount components, debugging hardware issues, validating circuit functionality, and developing and maintaining embedded firmware in C. The intern will work closely with the founders to iterate on product designs, troubleshoot technical challenges, and support testing activities as the device progresses through development.
Mentorship will be provided throughout the internship, making this an excellent opportunity for a student, recent graduate, or hobbyist looking to gain practical experience in embedded systems within a startup environment.
We're seeking someone with beginner to intermediate experience who is eager to learn and grow.
Required Skills
While this is an unpaid volunteer internship, we aim to provide meaningful experience and mentorship in a startup environment.
Benefits include:
If you're excited about embedded systems, enjoy building things, and want to gain startup experience while helping bring an innovative rehabilitation device to market, we'd love to hear from you.
