The role
As an Embedded Systems Engineer, you will design and develop the embedded hardware and software that powers Vale's automated systems, bridging the gap between silicon and the application layer.

Design and implement embedded hardware and software co-development for Vale's devices

Develop BSPs and firmware for custom hardware platforms

Optimize embedded systems for power consumption, memory footprint, and real-time performance

Integrate wireless communication protocols (BLE, Wi-Fi, or cellular) into Vale's devices

Collaborate on schematic review and PCB bring-up with Electrical Engineering

Write comprehensive tests for embedded systems from unit to system level

Document embedded system architecture, APIs, and configuration
Qualifications

Legally authorized to work in the United States
-
4+ years of embedded systems development experience

Proficiency in C/C++ and familiarity with both bare-metal and RTOS-based environments

Experience with wireless connectivity protocols and IoT architectures

Ability to read schematics and comfort working closely with hardware engineers during bring-up

Experience with Linux-based embedded systems (Yocto, Buildroot) a plus

$118,000 – $155,000 per year
