Join REVERE Vehicle Research Lab as an Embedded Systems Engineer

The REVERE Vehicle Research Lab at Chalmers is looking for a motivated Embedded Systems Engineer to support cutting-edge research and development across a wide range of mobility and autonomous systems applications.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys bridging theory and practice, building experimental systems, working with sensors and data, and continuously learning new technologies.

What You'll Do

Develop and Support Research Platforms

• Configure, integrate, and maintain research vehicles and experimental platforms.

• Support data collection campaigns, field testing, and validation activities.

• Assist researchers in deploying and evaluating new technologies and sensing systems.

Work with Advanced Sensors and Embedded Systems

• Integrate and operate sensors such as:

• Cameras

• RaDARs

• LiDARs

• GNSS receivers

• IMUs

Develop and troubleshoot embedded systems and data acquisition solutions.

• Work with communication interfaces including:

• CAN

• Ethernet

• Serial communication

• Programming and Data Handling

• Develop tools and scripts for data collection, processing, and analysis.

• Support automation, visualization, and research workflows.

• Additional tasks

• Support laboratory daily operation activities.

Required Skills

Who are we looking for?

• Engineering background in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Automotive Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

• Strong programming skills in Python, C++ and Dockers

• Familiarity with vehicle networks and communication protocols such as CAN, Ethernet, and Serial interfaces

• Interest in sensors, data acquisition, embedded systems, and autonomous systems

• Experience making dashboards in Grafana is desirable

• Experience with radio communications is a bonus

• Comfortable working both in the lab and in field-testing environments

• Curious, proactive, and eager to learn new technologies

• A practical problem solver with a strong can-do attitude

• Enjoys working collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams
