About threadBridge
threadBridge
builds machine-vision hardware
that catches manufacturing defects in real time — on the line, as they happen. We were named a 2026 H&M Foundation Global Change Award Changemaker. Our first deployment, in steel manufacturing, paid for itself in about three months on measured avoided cost. Not a projection. An invoice.
About the role
You’ll join our hardware team building the overhead camera bar that watches a production line and flags defects in real time. Working alongside mechanical, firmware, and vision engineers, you’ll help take the unit from CAD and schematic through prototype, factory installation, and long-term reliability. This is a hands-on, collaborative role — you build with your hands, and you build as part of a team.
What you’ll do
-
Contribute to the mechanical design of the enclosure, mounts, and camera bar in 3D CAD — built to survive a hot, dusty factory floor for years
-
Design and review PCBs from schematic through layout to board bring-up
-
Build and test prototypes by hand: soldering, assembly, bring-up, and debugging with oscilloscope and logic analyzer
-
Integrate industrial cameras and lighting (GigE / USB3 / MIPI)
-
Work with the vision team to deploy and optimise models on Jetson-class edge compute — fast enough to keep up with a moving line
-
Install units on-site and troubleshoot on the factory floor across Dhaka
What you’ll need
-
Mechanical 3D CAD for enclosures and mounts (Fusion360, Solidworks)
-
PCB design: schematic and layout, through bring-up (Altium, KiCAD, EasyEDA)
-
Bench skills: soldering, assembly, board bring-up, scope/logic-analyzer debugging
-
Embedded Linux and strong C/C++
-
Camera integration experience (GigE / USB3 / MIPI)
-
Edge AI deployment on Jetson-class hardware
-
Ability to work cleanly in a team: version control (Git), clear documentation, and tidy handoffs between mechanical, electrical, and firmware
-
Comfort doing floor work in and around Dhaka — it’s part of the job, not the exception
Nice to have
-
Inference optimisation on edge (e.g. TensorRT)
-
Python alongside C/C++
-
Sheet-metal / design-for-manufacture knowledge
-
Prior industrial or factory-floor deployment experience
-
Machine-vision lighting design
What we offer
-
A small, serious engineering team and an in-house PCBA/SMT line — what you design gets built in-house, fast
-
Hardware that ships and gets measured against real numbers
-
Competitive monthly compensation, negotiable based on experience
This isn’t for you if
You want to work only from a desk, only in simulation, or alone. The work is physical, it’s collaborative, and it ships — measured against real numbers.
