Embedded Systems Engineer – Connected Hardware / Embedded Products - Austin, TX area


Stelvio is supporting a growing technology company looking to add an Embedded Systems Engineer to a highly technical, hands-on engineering team.


This is a broad embedded role, not a pure firmware position.


The right person will enjoy working close to the hardware and be comfortable moving between firmware development, PCB design, board bring-up, sensors, wireless communication, testing, and production support.


The work involves improving and developing connected electronic products that operate outside of controlled lab environments, where reliability, low-power performance, manufacturability, and practical hardware/software problem-solving all matter.


Relevant experience could include:


  • Embedded C/C++ development on MCU-based systems
  • ARM Cortex-M, STM32, Nordic, ESP32, MSP430, PIC, or similar platforms
  • RTOS or bare-metal development
  • PCB schematic capture and/or PCB layout
  • Altium, KiCad, Eagle, OrCAD, Cadence, Mentor, or similar tools
  • Board bring-up, hardware debugging, and lab testing
  • Sensors, telemetry, data acquisition, or remote monitoring systems
  • BLE, LoRa/LoRaWAN, cellular, Wi-Fi, GPS/GNSS, or other wireless technologies
  • Low-power or battery-powered device design
  • Industrial, ruggedized, energy, agriculture, medical device, transportation, or field-deployed products


The strongest fit will be someone who has worked on physical electronic products beyond the prototype stage and understands what it takes to make embedded hardware and firmware perform reliably in real-world use.


This would suit an engineer who enjoys broad ownership, practical problem-solving, and working across the full product lifecycle rather than being limited to one narrow part of the stack.
