Our mission is to deliver life-saving insights through innovative hardware and software solutions in compact, user-friendly devices. Through a first of its kind, FDA 510(k) cleared ear-wearable device, OxiWear provides continuous real-time measurement of blood oxygen and pulse rate while still and during motion, with accuracy across all skin tones.

Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Embedded Software Engineer to help design, develop, and support firmware for our wearable devices. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working close to the hardware, solving real-world problems, and contributing across the stack in a fast-paced startup environment.

This is a fully in-office role with close collaboration across hardware, firmware, and product teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for OxiWear devices
• Write efficient, reliable, and maintainable code in C
• Interface directly with hardware for debugging and validation
• Develop test and support tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB/Octave, or similar)
• Debug issues using lab equipment (oscilloscope, voltmeter, etc.)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, mobile, backend)
• Contribute to system architecture and product design decisions

Must-Have Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in embedded software development
• Strong proficiency in C programming
• Basic electrical engineering skills , including:
• Using a voltmeter and oscilloscope
• Understanding simple circuits
• Experience building test or support utilities (Python, MATLAB, Octave, or similar)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on wearables, small devices, or resource-constrained systems
• Familiarity with Zephyr OS or other RTOS environments
• Experience with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)
• Exposure to regulated environments (FDA, ISO-9000, or similar)
• Strong adaptability and willingness to take on diverse technical challenges

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with assembly language
• Additional electrical engineering skills:
• Basic circuit design
• Reading schematics
