Job Description

Embedded Software Engineer | £40,000 - £80,000

We're working with one of the UK’s most prestigious technology innovation consultancies on this exciting opportunity. This is a chance to build cutting-edge robotics and high-tech solutions for global brands and disruptive startups using a modern stack including C++, C#, and ARM Cortex architectures.

Join a high-growth, meritocratic environment where leadership is earned through skill rather than tenure. You will thrive in a multidisciplinary team, bridging the gap between complex hardware and high-performance software while working on projects that define the future of regulated industries.

The Role

  • Design and develop high-performance software applications and control algorithms using OO languages including C++ and C#.
  • Architect and implement robust embedded code in C for diverse hardware platforms and ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers.
  • Collaborate directly with electronics, mechanical, and systems engineers to integrate software with complex robotics platforms.
  • Lead technical workstreams within a fast-paced consultancy environment, taking ownership of innovative solutions from concept to delivery.
  • Drive modern DevOps practices within embedded workflows, including the use of Docker containers and version control.

What You'll Need

  • Strong professional proficiency in C/C++ and C#/.NET for both device-level and PC application development.
  • Hands-on experience developing for ARM Cortex MCUs and a deep understanding of hardware-software interfacing.
  • Proven experience utilizing Docker containers for development and deployment workflows.
  • Proficiency with Git version control and a solid grasp of the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Exposure to regulated environments such as Medical Devices (IEC 62304, ISO 13485) or similar high-compliance sectors is highly desirable.

What's On Offer

  • Highly competitive salary of £40,000 - £80,000 based on experience with rapid, merit-based career progression.
  • Exposure to a massive variety of high-tech projects across robotics, medical technology, and global consumer brands.
  • A flexible, driven, and extremely motivated team culture that rewards innovation and technical excellence.
  • The opportunity to work in a world-renowned innovation hub in Cambridge alongside top-tier engineering talent.
