We are seeking an experienced
Embedded Software Engineer
to join our team of software developers in the creation of mission-critical software for defense and aerospace applications. This role is approximately
70% hands-on development
and
30% software architecture
, requiring both deep technical expertise, and ability to define technical solutions with a high-performing multi-discipline team.
Key Responsibilities:

Serve as a
contributor
and
owner
of technical software baselines.

Collaborate with the Chief Software Engineer, and adjacent engineering disciplines to architect and implement embedded software solutions that meet program requirements.

Develop embedded software in
C
(primary) and other relevant languages as required.

Ensure compliance with applicable aerospace and defense software standards, including
AS9115, DO-178C
and
MIL-STD-882
for system safety.

Proactively develop tasks, monitor progress, and adjust priorities to meet schedule and budget constraints.

Contribute to full software lifecycle from requirements, design, implementation, and test, while leveraging
devops
infrastructure.

Ensuring software quality with unit test, on target testing, debugging, and standards adherence.

Drive task execution, ensuring timely deliveries to achieve milestones and deliverables.

Coordinate with program managers, systems engineers, and hardware teams to ensure software integrates seamlessly into the overall system.
Required Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

4+ years
of experience developing embedded software for defense or aerospace systems.
-
Proven experience with
AS9115, DO-178C
and
MIL-STD-882
compliant software/system safety processes.
-
Strong proficiency in
C
; additional experience with C++, Python, or other languages is a plus.

Experience with embedded systems development tools, compilers, debuggers, and version control systems.

Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
-
U.S. Citizenship required
; ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and bare-metal development.

Experience with safety-critical systems development in compliance with MIL-STD-882.

Experience with embedded software for System on Chip (SoC) designs including MPSoC and RFSoC.

Experience with requirements/compliance management tools such as DOORs, Visure, etc.
-
Experience with MBSE tools such as CATIA, Enterprise Architect, etc. a plus.

Experience with Git, Jenkins, and other Dev ops infrastructure setup and workflows.

Prior hands-on work with aerospace or defense embedded platforms.
Work Environment:

Position may be open to work on-site in Fredrick, MD for highly qualified candidates; however, preference will be given to those able to work
on-site in Baton Rouge, LA
.

Occasional travel may be required for customer meetings, program reviews, or integration/testing activities.
