Embedded Software Engineer

Job Summary

ACE Partners are supporting a leading innovator in the Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) space to hire a Software Engineer to help expand their growing development team. This engineer will play a key role in designing, building, and validating software for UAS flight control, ground systems, telemetry, and simulation environments. The ideal candidate brings strong C++ experience and a background in embedded or real-time systems that power autonomous flight.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar discipline
• Strong programming skills in C++ , with hands-on embedded or real-time development experience
• Comfortable working with Git or similar version control tools
• Experience with multithreading, network protocols, and message-based architectures (UDP, TCP, MAVLink, DDS, etc)
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible to obtain DoD Security Clearance

Desired Experience

• Experience with UAS simulation frameworks
• Familiarity with DevOps tooling and Agile development practices
• Exposure to Jira, Confluence, GitLab, or similar workflow tools
• Experience working with telemetry data, sensors, or payload integration
• Understanding of avionics systems, flight controllers, or HITL testing environments
• Understanding of UAS platforms, autonomous systems, or related technologies
• Active DoD clearance highly beneficial

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary Range – $130,000 - $180,000 (DOE)
