Raptee.HV is a full- stack electric motorcycle startup with a very strong technical moat, founded in 2019 by four engineers from Chennai (Ex Tesla, Wipro), working on bringing a no-compromise upgrade motorcycle to an otherwise scooter- only EV market. Raptee is incubated at CIIC & ARAI.

Role Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic Embedded Software Engineer Intern with strong foundations in system-level software development , embedded application programming , and Linux internals . You will work across microcontrollers and Linux-based SoCs , building reliable embedded applications, interfacing with peripherals, and contributing to Yocto-based software stacks . Ideal for candidates who want to grow in embedded application software.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop system-level and embedded application software in C/C++ for MCUs and Linux SoCs.
  • Interface with hardware peripherals: GPIO, CAN, I2C, SPI, UART, PWM, ADC, timers, and interrupts.
  • Use RTOS concepts such as tasks, scheduling, synchronization, and ISR-based events.
  • Build applications using Make, CMake, Yocto, OpenEmbedded, and cross-toolchains.
  • Work with embedded Linux application development, including interacting with drivers, basic device tree understanding, and system integration.
  • Contribute to Yocto image customization, BitBake recipes, and Linux software builds.
  • Debug software–hardware interactions using JTAG, SWD, logic analyzers and oscilloscopes.

Who Can Apply?

  • Pursuing or completed B.E/B.Tech in EEE, ECE, CSE, or related fields.
  • Strong programming foundation in C/C++, pointers, memory handling, and optimization, familiarity with embedded Linux application development
  • Understanding of microcontrollers, SoCs, interrupts, real-time behavior, and embedded memory concepts.
  • Knowledge of system-level software, operating system concepts, Linux internals, processes/threads, and memory management.
  • Exposure or interest in Yocto/BitBake, CI/CD (Jenkins), kernel basics, or cross-toolchains.
  • Familiarity with Rust and experience involving JTAG/SWD and hardware debugging tools is a strong advantage.
