The Embedded Software Engineer III develops, tests, debugs, and supports embedded software for system control and monitoring of high-power RF transmitters. This role works closely with software, FPGA, and hardware teams to deliver reliable embedded solutions from requirements review through hands-on validation.
Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain embedded software for control and monitoring applications

Review requirements, evaluate technical feasibility, and contribute to software architecture and implementation decisions

Develop clear, maintainable code and supporting documentation, including diagrams, code comments, and test records

Troubleshoot software issues in Linux, and/or Windows environments using lab equipment, ICDs, and debugging tools

Collaborate with software, FPGA, hardware, and test teams during design reviews, integration, and validation

Follow established development processes, and report quality issues promptly

Qualifications
-
2 years of experience developing embedded, firmware, or systems-level software
-
BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a similar technical discipline
-
Hands-on experience with C/C++, C#, Linux, TCP/IP networking, and embedded software development
-
Experience developing control and monitoring applications using register interfaces, TCP protocols, or similar hardware/software interfaces

Experience debugging mixed hardware/software systems using ICDs, lab test equipment, schematics, or board-level documentation

Ability to obtain a DoD-issued clearance
Preferred Qualifications

Device driver experience with I2C, SPI, UART, USB, PCIe, or GPIO

Scripting experience with Python, Bash, Tcl/Tk, or similar tools

Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, SVN, Jira
-
Experience with DSP, IoT applications, UI/HMI tools, servo motor tuning, PLC ladder diagrams, or NTP
-
Familiarity with JavaScript, Node.js, GTK+3.x, React, Ignition SCADA

Life at OSI
Pay may range from $107,000 to $114,000 annually
The pay range above represents annual base salary only. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as your job level, geographic location, date of hire, experience, job-related knowledge and skills, and education in conjunction with market and business considerations.
Base salary is one component of your total rewards package. You may be eligible for long-term incentives, potential discretionary bonuses, and the ability to purchase company stock at a discounted rate through the Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP).
