Daily tasks include circuit tracing, hardware debugging, and creating detailed reports and design documentation for legacy and third-party boards. The engineer collaborates with embedded software and robotics teams to validate hardware behavior, support redesigns, and ensure compatibility with new features. The role also involves using test equipment, performing failure analysis, proposing hardware improvements, and supporting prototype development and validation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reverse engineer existing PCBs by analyzing schematics, multilayer board layouts, and electronic circuits.
  • Recreate schematics from physical PCBs using electronic design software.
  • Design high-quality multilayer PCBs for robotic and embedded systems.
  • Select appropriate electronic components based on performance, availability, and cost.
  • Develop embedded hardware for robotic systems using microcontrollers and embedded processors.
  • Interface sensors, motors, communication modules, power systems, and peripherals.
  • Debug hardware using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and other laboratory equipment.
  • Collaborate with firmware engineers for hardware-software integration.
  • Perform prototype bring-up, testing, validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Prepare manufacturing files (Gerber, BOM, Pick & Place, Assembly Drawings).
  • Optimize PCB designs for manufacturability, EMC/EMI performance, thermal management, and reliability.
  • Support product development from prototype through production.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics, Embedded Systems, Robotics.
