Job Description

Role Summary

We are looking for an Embedded Linux Firmware Engineer to support the development of next-generation embedded computing platforms used in high-performance edge and AI-driven environments. The ideal candidate will work on low-level software components including Linux kernel modules, firmware, bootloaders, BIOS/UEFI, and Board Support Packages (BSP), enabling reliable hardware initialization and operating system integration across multiple processor architectures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, port, and maintain Linux device drivers and kernel modules.
  • Configure and optimize Linux kernel components for embedded hardware platforms.
  • Support GMSL3 driver integration and related software utilities.
  • Customize BIOS/UEFI and bootloader components to meet platform requirements.
  • Develop and maintain Board Support Packages (BSP) for embedded x86 and ARM-based systems.
  • Perform board bring-up, hardware validation, and platform debugging during product development.
  • Configure kernel, device tree, and boot process for new hardware platforms.
  • Support Linux operating system integration on custom embedded devices.
  • Troubleshoot low-level hardware and firmware issues using debugging tools and interfaces.
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, and platform engineering teams to ensure smooth system integration.
  • Prepare technical documentation covering firmware configuration, BSP implementation, and board bring-up procedures.
  • Participate in firmware validation and support release activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Embedded Linux development.
  • Strong experience in Linux kernel module programming and device driver development.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming.
  • Solid understanding of Linux boot sequence, kernel initialization, and embedded system architecture.
  • Experience developing or maintaining Board Support Packages (BSP).
  • Hands-on experience with board bring-up and hardware debugging.
  • Familiarity with BIOS/UEFI customization and bootloader concepts.
  • Experience working with storage interfaces such as eMMC, NVMe, SATA, or SD cards.
  • Knowledge of hardware debugging tools including JTAG, serial console, and oscilloscopes.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with NVIDIA Jetson platforms.
  • Familiarity with GMSL3 protocol and driver integration.
  • Understanding of firmware security concepts including Secure Boot and TPM.
  • Exposure to heterogeneous computing platforms and embedded SoCs.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines for embedded software or firmware development.
  • Knowledge of cloud-edge or embedded infrastructure platforms is an advantage.
