Embedded Hardware & Firmware Engineer

About the Role

We're looking for a hands-on Embedded Hardware & Firmware Engineer to join our growing team at IoTize.ORG. You'll work on real-world industrial IoT devices, from soldering and hardware bring-up to writing and debugging firmware, helping us build reliable, field-ready products that power Industry 5.0.

If you love working close to hardware, can read a schematic as easily as code, and take pride in a clean solder joint as much as a clean commit, this role is for you.

What You'll Do

• Design, prototype, and debug embedded hardware circuits and PCB assemblies

• Solder components (SMD and through-hole) and perform hands-on hardware bring-up and rework

• Write, test, and maintain firmware in C/C++ for microcontrollers (STM32, ESP32, or similar)

• Integrate sensors, communication modules (UART, SPI, I2C, RS485, LoRa, etc.) and power systems

• Debug hardware and firmware issues using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters

• Collaborate with the product and software teams to move prototypes to production-ready devices

• Document hardware designs, firmware logic, and test procedures

What We're Looking For

• 1–3 years of experience in embedded systems, hardware development, or a related role

• Solid soldering skills, SMD rework experience is a strong plus

• Hands-on firmware development experience in C/C++ on microcontroller platforms

• Familiarity with communication protocols: UART, SPI, I2C, RS485, CAN, or similar

• Ability to read and work from schematics and datasheets

• Problem-solving mindset, you debug until it works

• A degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

Bonus Points

• Experience with RTOS (FreeRTOS or similar)

• Knowledge of wireless protocols (LoRa, MQTT, BLE, Wi-Fi)

• Familiarity with industrial IoT, sensor systems, or predictive maintenance applications

• PCB design experience (EasyEDA, KiCad, Altium, or similar)
