Job Description

OMD Systems develops advanced autonomous drone technologies for defence and security applications. We are expanding our hardware engineering team in Berlin and looking for an Embedded Hardware Engineer to design and validate next-generation electronic systems for our unmanned platforms.


What you'll do:

  • Design analog and digital circuits and develop schematics using Altium Designer or KiCad
  • Select components and support PCB layout for manufacturability, signal integrity, and reliability
  • Build, test, and debug hardware prototypes at board and system level
  • Perform power distribution, signal integrity, and EMC/EMI analyses
  • Develop cable harnesses, wiring diagrams, and maintain engineering documentation
  • Collaborate with PCB manufacturers, assembly partners, and cross-functional teams (firmware, systems, mechanical)
  • Support hardware validation during lab and field testing


What we're looking for:

  • 3+ years in hardware design, embedded electronics, or circuit development
  • Proficiency with Altium Designer or KiCad
  • Hands-on experience with microcontrollers, sensors, power management, and interfaces (UART, SPI, I²C, CAN)
  • Solid lab skills: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, SMD/THT soldering
  • Knowledge of SMT processes and PCB fabrication constraints
  • Nice to have: power electronics, firmware/MCU programming, mixed-signal debugging
