Job Description

Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka

Company: Comrado Aerospace Pvt Ltd

Employment Type: Full-time

Experience: 1–3 Years

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Embedded Hardware Engineer to join our UAV development team. The role involves designing, developing, testing, and validating embedded electronic hardware for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) platforms, including flight control systems, sensor interfaces, power electronics, and communication subsystems.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in embedded hardware design, PCB development, debugging, and integration with firmware/software teams in a fast-paced R&D environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop embedded hardware systems for UAV platforms, including flight controllers, sensor interface boards, power management circuits, communication modules, and payload interface electronics.
  • Create schematics, perform circuit analysis and simulations, and optimize designs for power efficiency, weight, size, and reliability.
  • Collaborate on PCB layout, prototyping, assembly, and bring-up activities for multi-layer embedded boards.
  • Select and evaluate electronic components such as microcontrollers, IMUs, GNSS modules, RF communication devices, and power management ICs suitable for aerospace/UAV applications.
  • Work closely with firmware engineers for hardware–firmware integration, device driver validation, and real-time system optimization.
  • Develop and execute hardware testing and validation plans, including functional, performance, environmental, and EMI/EMC-related testing.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including schematics, BOMs, PCB files, test procedures, and validation reports.
  • Provide technical support during manufacturing, assembly, troubleshooting, and field testing activities.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including avionics, embedded software, mechanical design, and flight test engineers.

Required Qualifications

  • B.E./B.Tech in Electronics & Communication, Electrical & Electronics, Embedded Systems, Avionics, or related discipline.
  • 1–3 years of experience in embedded hardware design or electronics product development.
  • Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design.
  • Hands-on experience with schematic capture and PCB design tools such as Altium Designer, KiCad, or Eagle.
  • Experience with microcontrollers (STM32, ESP32, ARM Cortex-M, or similar platforms).
  • Knowledge of communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I²C, CAN, and USB.
  • Proficiency in hardware debugging using oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and power analyzers.
  • Ability to read datasheets, evaluate components, and troubleshoot hardware issues independently.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in UAV, robotics, aerospace, automotive, or IoT products.
  • Familiarity with PX4/ArduPilot hardware ecosystems.
  • Exposure to EMI/EMC considerations and environmental testing.
  • Basic firmware development in C/C++ for embedded systems.
  • Understanding of battery management systems, power distribution, and RF communication modules.
